Backward-curved centrifugal impellers are of high efficiency and can be used without a scroll housing. If necessary, they can be installed in circular, rectangular, or scroll-shaped housings providing there is sufficient clearance to the side-wall. All performance data contained herein relates to measurements taken with ECOFIT standard inlet and discharge conditions. Any modifications to the inlet or discharge will result in changes in the performance data. Special constructions with pre-assembled inlet rings are presented herein.
ECOFIT motors are speed controllable by voltage variation, but where electronic controllers are used, they must be designed for electric motor duty and be compatible with ECOFIT products. Capacitors must be of the "motor run" type and be of the recommended value, voltage rating, and life expectancy.
The customer must test for motor total temperature in the application, with the worst operating conditions for the motor. ECOFIT should then validate the test results.
The ECOFIT EC motor is a synchronous motor designed to be powered by 230V 50/60Hz (115V is optional with special adapter). Unlike an AC asynchronous motor, the EC motor has no slippage, thus fewer losses and higher efficiency.
Compared to standard AC fans, EC fans’ rotational speed is not limited by power supply frequency but only by the maximum motor power.
EC fans are easy to control with a 0-10VDC voltage or PWM signal. A 10VDC output is integrated inside the electronic for fan control.
ECOFIT has extended the range of backward-curved fans: double inlet and single inlet centrifugal blowers with the combination of a new EC technology motor.
Available in 192, 220 and 225, 250, 280, and 315mm diameter impellers, these fans offer higher efficiency because of the EC motor. These motorized impellers are well adapted for free air operation but can also be installed in circular, rectangular, or scroll-shaped housings. Airflow range varies between 390 CFM to 1475 CFM.
EC technology is also available for forward-curved centrifugal fans: single inlet diameter 140 mm and 160 mm and double inlet diameter 146 mm and 160 mm. The forward-curved centrifugal blower’s main advantage is “constant pressure” or “constant airflow” control without a sensor.
